MEMBER PROFILE
Amy Walton
Amy Walton got a loan for a new car before she started looking. “I called the Anytime LoanPhone. It only took 10 minutes and I was tentatively approved right away, pending confirmation of my information. When I found the car I wanted, the dealer told me I could get a better rate through dealer financing. He made me an offer that was ¾ % less than my Alternatives loan. I called Amy Smith, my loan officer, and she matched that rate immediately. I had no idea that Alternatives has a policy of matching rates to stay competitive. I was really glad. This policy allowed me to keep all my banking at Alternatives.”
The Bill Myers Youth Internship
Alternatives' CEO Bill Myers is retiring. The Bill Myers Youth Internship is just beginning.
Twenty-eight years ago, Bill Myers and friends founded Alternatives Federal Credit Union with a cigar box, a calculator and $25. Today, Alternatives embodies the heart and chutzpah of community development with its innovative programs, its commitment to economic and social justice, and the vision, savvy and temerity to challenge the growing financial divide.
He's been bold. He's been visionary. He's been influential. And we think the world needs more leaders and mavericks like Bill. To honor and continue his legacy, the Alternatives' board and staff have founded The Bill Myers Youth Internship.
Each year we'll award a paid youth internship at Alternatives to work on projects to further the mission and goals of the organization and Bill's legacy. Our recipient will be selected for his or her ideals of economic and social justice. It is our ambition to ignite the community development spark in the bright leaders of tomorrow. Please join us in honoring Bill Myers and his outstanding contribution to CDCUs.
Be Bold. Be Visionary. Be Influential. Make a contribution to fund the Bill Myers Youth Internship.
