"I really found out how caring Alternatives is last October when I was called up to active duty after Hurricane Katrina," says member Shannan Sullivan. "Navy pay is only a fraction of what I make as a nurse practitioner. I panicked. I had to make provisions. In 24 hours Alternatives had arranged for me to pay interest only on smaller loans, and forebear my mortgage until I returned from active duty... Alternatives made me feel like I was the only person they had to worry about."

Business From the Heart Workshop!

Whether you'd like to make the world more "green," support social justice and fair trade, or simply provide customers with the best product or service at the fairest price, being an entrepreneur gives you an opportunity to express your personal convictions publicly through your business!

Next month, we are excited to bring back our "Business From the Heart" workshop, a session designed for anyone interested in exploring ways to integrate their personal values into their business practices. The workshop will include values assessment, goal setting, and plenty of strategizing, and you'll have a chance to share ideas and get feedback from your colleagues in the local business community.
