You could be eligible for THREE scholarship opportunities from Alternatives Federal Credit Union, the New York Credit Union Association (NYCUA) and the NYCUA – CNY Chapter!
🎓 About the Program
The NYCUA Scholarship Program partners with credit unions across New York to support college-bound members. These funds can be used for tuition, room and board, books, and school supplies.
Last year, NYCUA awarded $32,250 in scholarships to 50 students, with individual awards ranging from $250 to $1,500.
In addition, Alternatives FCU will award three $500 scholarships to eligible applicants!
✅ Who’s Eligible
You can apply if:
- You are an Alternatives FCU member. (Not a member? Join now!)
- You are a college-bound high school senior attending college for the first time in the fall of 2026.
- You will attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university.
📝 How to Apply
- Complete the Scholarship Application Form
- Answer all questions within the space provided on the form.
- Do not include attachments, resumes, photos, or other materials unless specifically requested.
- Sign the Certification & Release Authorization
- Both you and a parent or guardian must sign the final page.
- Obtain Your Verification Code
- Call Alternatives FCU to verify your membership and receive your credit union verification code.
- Enter this code on your application form.
- Prepare Your Supporting Documents
You’ll need to upload the following as three separate files (PDF, Word, or JPG format only; Google Docs are not accepted):
