On New Year’s Day, our team showed up for the Ithaca Chill Challenge—a community fundraiser that’s as bold as it is fun. The event is a “polar plunge with a twist”: people donate to a participant and can “vote” with their dollars for that person to dip (run into the lake) or dodge (stay warm and dry).
We participated because we believe recovery deserves community support, dignity, and safe spaces—not judgment. The Chill Challenge benefits Ithaca Community Recovery, Inc., a local nonprofit that provides safe, affordable, drug- and alcohol-free meeting and event space for 12-step and other recovery-oriented groups, individuals, and families.
Recovery isn’t just an individual journey—it’s also about having consistent, welcoming places to connect, heal, and keep going. That’s why this event matters. When we invest in recovery spaces, we invest in a stronger, safer community for everyone.
Thank you for backing our team
If you donated, cheered us on, or simply talked about why this cause matters—thank you. Your support helps keep Ithaca Community Recovery’s doors open and helps more people access the kind of community care that can be life-changing.
