Why this day matters here
In 2025, 84% of our personal and auto loans went to people in low-income households and communities.
We are a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).
Of the more than 4,000 credit unions in the U.S., fewer than 500 are certified CDFIs.
A CDFI is a lender certified to serve people and communities that mainstream banks have often left out.
CDFIs matter because fair, affordable financial tools help people build savings, stability, and lasting wealth, and that strengthens the whole community.
That is what we are celebrating on October 15.

Alternatives Federal Credit Union members age 18 or older with an open account. Employees of Alternatives and members of their immediate households are not eligible. Limit one entry per person, regardless of entry method.

Winners and odds
Two winners are selected at random from all eligible entries and notified by October 23. Each has 72 hours from notification to respond. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

The giveaway is open to Alternatives Federal Credit Union members age 18 or older with an open account.

How to Enter
Eligible members may enter using one of the following methods. No method of entry will receive preference over another.
Online:
Complete and submit the International Credit Union Day Giveaway entry form during the giveaway period.
In Person:
Complete an entry form at an Alternatives Federal Credit Union branch on October 15, 2026.
By Mail:
Mail your name, address, phone number and email address to:

Mail-in entries must be received by October 20, 2026.
Only one entry per person will be accepted, regardless of how the entry is submitted.
Sharing a story, testimonial, feedback, photo, or other information about your experience with Alternatives is not required to enter or win and will not increase your chances of winning.
Prizes
Two prizes will be awarded:
- One $50 gift certificate to The Richford Diner
- One $100 gift certificate to Graft Wine + Cider Bar
The prizes were donated by The Richford Diner and Graft Wine + Cider Bar, both Alternatives member businesses.
Each winner will receive one prize. Prizes have no cash value and may not be substituted or transferred, except at the Sponsor’s discretion if a prize becomes unavailable.
Winner Selection and Notification
Two winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries received during the giveaway period.
Winners will be notified using the contact information provided with their entry no later than October 23, 2026.
A selected winner will have 72 hours from the time of notification to respond and accept the prize. If a selected winner does not respond within 72 hours, is found to be ineligible, or declines the prize, another winner may be selected at random from the remaining eligible entries.
Odds of Winning
Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
Sharing Member Stories
Sharing a story or feedback is entirely voluntary and is not required to enter or win.
Members who choose to share a story may indicate whether Alternatives has permission to share the story, share it anonymously, contact the member before sharing it, or keep the story private.
Alternatives will obtain separate permission before using a member’s full name, photograph, likeness, or other additional identifying information not specifically authorized by the member.
Choosing not to share a story or grant permission to use a story will not affect a member’s giveaway entry, membership, or access to Alternatives products or services.
General Conditions
By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules and to the decisions of Alternatives Federal Credit Union regarding the administration of the giveaway.
Alternatives Federal Credit Union reserves the right to disqualify entries that are incomplete, fraudulent, submitted in violation of these Official Rules, or otherwise determined to be ineligible.
Alternatives Federal Credit Union is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or undeliverable entries or communications due to technical, postal, or other circumstances outside its reasonable control.
The Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the giveaway if circumstances beyond its reasonable control prevent the giveaway from being conducted as intended, subject to applicable law.
Privacy
Information collected through the giveaway will be used to administer the giveaway, verify eligibility, contact winners, and for any additional purpose specifically authorized by the member.
